Red Ribbon Award Winners 2012 Receive Award Grants in Official Ceremonies Around the World
1 December 2012- On the occasion of this year's World AIDS Day, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the Red Ribbon Award Secretariat are proud to announce the official handover of the 2012 Red Ribbon Award prize of US$ 10 000 to the 2012 Red Ribbon Award Winners for their outstanding work in the response to HIV at the community level. The Red Ribbon Award is the world's leading recognition of excellence in the community-based response to HIV. Through their activities and engagement, the Red Ribbon Award Winners are making a vital difference in the lives of people affected by HIV in the communities which the Winners serve.

The RRA Winners are receiving the US$ 10 000 award at ceremonies in their home countries in the presence of national and local dignitaries, as well as representatives of the UN Family and Donors to the Red Ribbon Awards.

The 2012 winning organizations are from Egypt, Haiti, India, Iran, Kenya, Mexico, Myanmar,

Sri Lanka, the Russian Federation and Uganda.
